A local group is raising money to buy backpacks full of school supplies to give to needy students in Jamaica and Haiti.
The group is called Children’s Oasis International. Founder Bethan Whitely spoke with ACB 25 anchor Erin Guy about the effort.
Last year, the organization helped more than 1,600 kids. The goal is to double that effort this year.
