Police in Riviera Beach are building bridges.

The community came together Tuesday for National Night Out at Bicentennial Park in Riviera Beach.

“Events like this bring awareness to the importance of a good relationship a police department has to have with the community,” said Acting Chief of Police Michael Madden. “We can’t do the job alone.”

The night included a dance competition.

The K9 team also held a demonstration.

The HRT squad made it an explosive night with a hostage rescue performance.

The event featured a rock-climbing wall, face painting, and free food.

Kids could also climb in and out of police vehicles and talk to the officers.
