The year 2020 brought many challenges for all, including the terrible loss of so many people by a pandemic that came through our lives, determined to level everything in its wake.

As I look back, though stressful for the most part, I’m grateful nonetheless for the things that happened in my life.

I was bestowed the highest honor given by the Gold Coast PR Council,  the President’s Award for the work our team and my family did to host a Sunday Dinner for Bahamian families after hurricane Dorain destroyed their homeland, my homeland.

I traveled with WPEC Channel 12 to The Bahamas to help with telling stories of the recovery efforts.

That station won an Emmy for that coverage. Congrats to them.

Our team helped with a WPBF CH 25 Special Chronicle 2020 highlighting the toll the pandemic has taken on the mental health of many in our community.

I was featured in several articles and recently was nominated and chosen as one of South Florida’s Most Influential and Prominent Black Women in Business and Industry for 2020.

I am most grateful to the business owners, the nonprofits and the families who allow us everyday to come into their lives to listen to their stories and share them with the community in hopes of making a difference. Thank You!

I’m even more grateful to the media outlets that allow us to share stories from our community with the community.  Thank You!

I’m not bragging or boasting about accolades.

I feel compelled to share how good God has been to me and continues to be to me, my family and the entire Hey, Sandy! team.

I hope this post will uplift someone else whose fear is holding them back from achieving their dream, whatever that dream may be.

My fear of plunging on my own almost held me back.

2021 look out, we’re just getting started.

Happy New Year to all.
Sandy
