A home-cooked meal and counseling.

Those two on the menu Saturday at a church on Boynton Beach.

Community and religious leaders teamed up for a community day of feeding and healing.

The drive-thru event offered food and emotional support to help families get through the pandemic.

The grills were smoking.

Volunteers carried food to the car.

And those who needed it, had an ear to talk to.

“The goal for this project is really to get the behavioral health systems that are out there into neighborhoods like this,” said Kevin Choi with Trinity Counseling Center.

“We find that this is important in our community, not just our community but all over the world, that people are hurting, they are in need,” said Bishop Kenneth T. Jones of the Boynton Beach House of Kingdom Worship.

The Boynton Beach House of Kingdom Worship hosted the free event along with Trinity Counseling Center.
