London is calling Riviera Beach.
A simple Google search led to a trip of a lifetime for the Sounds of Success Community Marching Band.
The band will perform during London Band Week 2023.
And what’s even more special is American Idol runner-up Willie Spence is traveling with the band and will perform the National Anthem in London.
All, thanks to Google.
Band director Antoine Miller said the director of London Band Week was tasked to find a worthy community marching band to invite to the event. During a Google search for community marching band, SOS popped up first. The party planner checked out the social media and liked what he saw.
“He most definitely wanted to bring that energy over to London and I was most definitely honored, and he told me specifically, ‘come as you are, bring the energy that you’re known for having,'” said Miller.
Their story even made the pages of Fox News.
But there’s a lot of work to do in a short amount of time.
The community must step up to help raise $500,000 for the trip for 100 band members and chaperones.
